Golf Magazine reveals latest list of Top 100 Teachers in America

Biennial list compiled by Golf's Top 100 Teachers Credentials Committee is the industry standard for recognizing excellence in coaching

New York, NY July 29, 2021 – GOLF Magazine has announced its Top 100 Teachers in America, continuing its legacy of leadership in highlighting America’s most innovative, committed and accomplished teachers.

First introduced in 1991, GOLF’s biennial ranking is the only national golf instructor search that combines outside academic and PGA peer review. GOLF’s Top 100 Teachers Credentials Committee is an independent committee of select teaching professionals who undertake the comprehensive selection process. The selection committee uses a number of criteria to determine each candidate’s worthiness, including teaching experience and accomplishments, student portfolio and peer ratings, and commitment to growing the game through volunteerism and digital platforms.

This year’s edition of the Top 100 Teachers also identifies emerging Teachers to Watch, a group of innovative rising stars. And new to GOLF’s list for 2021 is a list of Top 100 Lifetime Achievement designation, highlighting teachers who have remained on the Top 100 list for 20 consecutive years or more.

“GOLF’s Top 100 Teachers in America list is the industry standard for recognizing excellence in coaching,” said Hoyt McGarity, President of 8AM Golf, GOLF’s parent company. “This legacy guides us in our pursuit of creating what we believe is the most thorough list of top teachers in the country.”

“Few aspects of the game are as important as sound and effective instruction,” said Kellie Stenzel, Advisor to 8AM Golf and a Top 100 teacher herself. “For many, knowing where to turn for reliable instruction is a daunting task. With each new Top 100 Teachers list, GOLF makes it easier for students of all skill levels to find the quality instruction they deserve.”

As part of the new Top 100 ranking, twelve first-time teachers to make the list shared their personal stories of student success – from working with some of the top professionals on the PGA and LPGA tour to helping the youngest golfers in the game foster an environment of fun and accomplishment.
