RBC Heritage Takeaways:
▪️ The 18th playoff in tournament history — and fourth in the past five years — was a heavyweight match between Matthew Fitzpatrick and Scottie Scheffler. Fitzpatrick won to keep his playoff record clean (2-0). Fitzpatrick's last playoff win? He defeated Jordan Spieth in this very tournament three years ago.
▪️ Fitzpatrick notches his first multi-win season on the PGA Tour and joins Chris Gotterup as the only players with multiple wins this season. He also becomes the 11th player to win the RBC Heritage multiple times.
▪️ Scheffler now has 29 straight top-25 finishes on the PGA Tour. His last finish outside the top 25 was the 2024 BMW Championship (T33). His runner-up finish also marks his 45th time in 158 starts finishing T3 or better on Tour (28.5%) — 1st (20), 2nd (12), 3rd (13). He finishes runner-up in back-to-back starts on Tour for the first time in his career (Masters Tournament, RBC Heritage).
▪️ First-round leader Ludvig Aberg (T4) records his fourth top-5 finish in his last five starts this season.
▪️ Gary Woodland holed out from 204 yards on the 72nd hole. It marked the fourth-longest of any hole-out at Harbour Town Golf Links in the ShotLink Era.
