For all the money talk surrounding the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, these are high times for money purses in women's golf. On Tuesday, it was announced that the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship would double its prize purse to $9 million — a significant 300% jump since 2014. And that comes just weeks after the U.S. Women’s Open awarded a record $10 million purse (up from $5.5 million in 2021). And it was less than a year ago that the AIG Women’s British Open set the previous record for women’s golf with a $5.8 million purse, which will jump to $6.8 million this year.
