Back in the day, when Tiger Woods was dominating headlines with his on-course exploits, it seemed as if every week there was some eye-popping statistic attached to his name. These days, Scottie Scheffler appears to be that guy. With six PGA Tour wins in 2024 — though none since late June — Scheffler easily entered the FedEx Cup Playoffs as the No. 1 player in points. Interestingly, he is one of just two players to hold the No. 1 position entering the FedEx Cup Playoffs more than once, having also been No. 1 in 2022. The other player? Yep, Woods (2007, 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2013).
