According to Pellucid Corp., golf playable hours across the country for August increased 5% vs. August 2021. The increase was significant because the national range is typically is between 2% plus or minus. The key seasonal month also helped reduce the year-to-date deficit to -6%.

Introduced: By Bushnell Golf, the new Pro X3 laser rangefinder. The device introduces an update to its Slope with Elements technology, a new dual display that provides the option to toggle between display settings based on lighting conditions and user preference.
Selected: By the Chipd In National Championship Team Scramble, three additional Florida-based charities as beneficiaries — Harbor House, MS Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters Central Florida. The team scramble will be played as part of the Chipd In National Championship, Oct. 15-16 at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida.
Announced: By Drive Shack Inc., an owner and operator of golf-related leisure and entertainment businesses, that Puttery Houston will open on Friday, Sept. 16. The newest two-story, 23,000-square-foot venue features multiple bars, three nine-hole putting courses and rotating DJs and live music. It is located in Houston's Sawyer Yards region.
Launched: By Payntr Golf, its first line of women's shoes — Women's Payntr X 003. The shoe will retail for $140 and features a midsole in women’s sizing that is designed to be softer for equivalent energy return and responsiveness versus those with a larger frame, and a Pebax propulsion plate to more effectively harness ground reaction forces.
Announced: By the PGA Tour, that Scottie Scheffler has been voted the 2022 PGA Tour Player of the Year as voted by the Tour's membership for the 2021-22 season. Scheffler, the No. 1 player in the Official World Golf Ranking, led the Tour with four victories this season, including his first major championship at the Masters. He also becomes the first player to win the Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year, PGA Tour Rookie of the Year and PGA Tour Player of the Year.
