FIRST THOUGHT

At last year's Solheim Cup, the United States team raced to a 4-0 Friday morning lead by sweeping the foursomes round. Europe, though, battled back to tie the match 14-14 and retained the Cup. Can the Americans jump out to a similar lead again? Well, four of the United States' eight foursomes players —
Lauren Coughlin, Nelly Korda, Lilia Vu and and Rose Zhang — have combined to win 10 times on the LPGA this season, while none of Europe's eight foursomes starters have won on the LPGA in 2024. Coughlin and Zhang will be paired together in the opening session.
