FIRST THOUGHT

Just when professional golf appeared to be heading toward a quiet offseason, Greg Norman was named CEO of the Saudi-backed Liv Golf Investments on Friday. The group's first order of business was to announce a 10-event series that will be part of the Asian Tour's 2022 season, but will not include the Saudi International. The move is believed to be the next iteration of the Premier Golf League / Super Golf League rumblings of the past few years. The lack of substantial details is leading to immense speculation as to whether the world's top-ranking players will seek to play more on the Asian Tour and how will the PGA and European tours respond. Quiet? Not for long.
