FIRST THOUGHT

There remain a lot of questions regarding Saudi-backed Liv Golf Investments' infusion of a 10-event series into the Asian Tour. For example, broadcast rights. On the surface it would appear that all of the mainstream networks are spoken for, but Greg Norman, Liv Golf's new CEO, may have foreshadowed what is about to unfold with the Tour that is expected to vie for the world's best players' time. In February 2020, Norman said: “Who is one of the biggest companies in the world right now with a trillion dollar business? Apple. And Amazon. Streaming is the future. ... Why not stream golf on Apple, why not on Amazon? Get out of the box. There are opportunities out there that are far greater than even I could have contemplated back in my day."
