Ask any golfer whether he would rather be leading or trailing after 54 holes, and the likely response will be out in front. But, according to the PGA Tour, that can be a dicey proposition. Over the last 10 years, only 34.2% of players to hold or share a 54-hole lead have gone on to win. Also, over a 14-tournament stretch this summer, none of the players who held or shared the lead at the three-quarter mark won. It was the longest such streak on the PGA Tour in the last 30 seasons.
