On Monday, Stacy Lewis was chosen to captain her second U.S. Solheim Cup team before she has completed her duties with the first one. Lewis will lead the Americans to Spain in September, then will be the captain again when the Solheim Cup returns to U.S. soil in 2024. Lewis joins Kathy Whitworth, Judy Rankin, Patty Sheehan and Juli Inkster as captains of multiple U.S. teams.

Payntr Golf: Names 2022 World Long Drive champion Martin Borgmeier as its newest ambassador ahead of the 2023 World Long Drive season. Borgmeier currently wears the Payntr X 002 LE, the brand’s full-grain leather offering with graphite propulsion plate.
Solheim Cup: Two-time major champion Stacy Lewis has been named captain of the 2024 U.S. Solheim Cup Team. Lewis will lead the 2023 U.S. team later this year in the 18th Solheim Cup Matches at Finca Cortesin in Casares, Andalusia, Spain. Lewis, a 13-time LPGA champion who played on the 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017 Solheim Cup Teams, will then lead the Americans when they play at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia, Sept. 10-15, 2024.
United States Golf Association: Announces local and final qualifying sites for the 123rd U.S. Open Championship, to be held on The Los Angeles Country Club’s North Course for the first time, June 15-18. Local qualifying, conducted over 18 holes at 109 sites in 44 U.S. states and Canada, will take place between April 17-May 22. Those players who advance out of local qualifying will join a group of locally exempt players in final qualifying, which will be conducted over 36 holes. The final stage will be held in England (May 16), Japan (May 22) and Canada (June 5) as well as 10 U.S. sites, one on May 22 and nine on June 5. Online player registration for the 2023 U.S. Open will begin on Feb. 22 at champs.usga.org.
