Takeaways from the Cognizant Classic:
▪️ Shane Lowry held a three-stroke lead at 19-under with three holes to play before finishing double bogey, double bogey, par and tying for second, two strokes behind Nico Echavarria. For Lowry, the back-to-back double bogeys were the first since the 2016 WGC-HSBC Champions. Also, he went bogey free on the front nine for the entire week, marking the first time in his 194 stroke-play starts on Tour that he has achieved this feat.
▪️ Echavarria, 31, became the first player in his 30s to win through seven events on Tour this season.
▪️ Brooks Koepka finished T9 after posting a final-round 65. It was his best finish in three starts this season since re-joining the PGA Tour.
▪️ Echavarria made the fewest number of bogeys for the week (3) — all coming in the second round.
▪️ Max McGreevy recorded an albatross on the par-5 third, holing out from 246 yards. It makred the first albatross at PGA National Resort (Champion Course) since it began hosting the Cognizant Classic in 2007.
