FIRST THOUGHT

If Scottie Scheffler is going to dial in his game in preparation for the Masters in a few weeks, then the Texas Children's Houston Open is as good of a place as any. After starting 2026 with a win, a T3 and a T4, the world's No. 1 player has finished T12, T24 and T22. The run of finishes outside the top 10 is his longest such streak since a four-tournament stretch in 2022. Currently, Scheffler owns the longest streak of consecutive made cuts on the PGA Tour (70) and at the Houston Open he has three runner-up finishes in six starts — 2021, 2024 and 2025.
