PGA Championship Talking Points:
▪️ World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler arrives at Aronimink as the reigning champion, looking to become the first player to go back-to-back since Brooks Koepka (2018–19). Scheffler has been dominant in the majors, finishing T8 or better in five of his last six PGA starts and recording 16 top-10s in his last 20 major appearances.
▪️ This is the first time the PGA Championship has returned to Aronimink Golf Club, originally designed by Donald Ross and restored by Gil Hanse in 2018, since 1962 (won by Gary Player). However, the field has recent experience here. Thirty players competed in the 2018 BMW Championship at this venue, including winner Keegan Bradley, runner-up Justin Rose and top-five finishers Xander Schauffele, Rory McIlroy and Billy Horschel.
▪️ Rory McIlroy enters with momentum after a successful title defense at the 2026 Masters, seeking his third PGA title. Meanwhile, Brooks Koepka looks to join the elite ranks of Walter Hagen, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as the only players with four or more PGA Championship victories.
▪️ Jordan Spieth is making his 10th attempt to complete the career Grand Slam. If he wins this week, he would become just the seventh player in history to achieve the feat, joining a list that includes Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.
▪️ Current FedEx Cup points leader Cameron Young is the hottest player on PGA Tour, entering the week at a career-high World No. 3. After zero wins in his first 93 starts on Tour, he has claimed three titles in his last 15 starts, including the 2026 Players Championship and the Cadillac Championship.
