Reigning U.S. Women's Open champion Yuka Saso has only that one title to her name on Tour. If the second is to come any time soon, then this week's Open at
Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club is the ideal place. Since 1991, only two players have successfully defended their championship — Annika Sorenstam in 1995 and 1996, and Karrie Webb in 2000 and 2001. Both of those title defenses came at Pine Needles.

Announced: By PGA Tour Latinoamerica, it will hold its season-ending tournament at El Tigre Golf Club in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. The 72-hole, limited-player tournament is July 14-17.
Announced: By Palheiro Golf, a seven-figure investment in its golf, hotel and lifestyle facilities located on Portugal's Madeira Island. Also, the club will launch a golf academy in 2023 that will feature 28 bays and a fitting center. An actual cost was not revealed.
Announced: By the Presidents Cup, the six Historically Black Colleges and Universities teams that will compete in the inaugural Charlie Sifford Centennial Cup, Aug. 29 at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte. Johnson C. Smith University will serve as the host school and will be joined by Howard University, Florida A&M University, Alabama State University, Texas Southern University and Livingstone College.
Announced: By TaylorMade, a multiyear extension with Charley Hull, who will continue to play a full bag of TaylorMade equipment and golf ball on the Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour. Since joining Team TaylorMade, Hull has seen an increase in her top-10 finishes year-on-year and is currently ranked No. 33 in the world. Among the clubs in Hull's bag are the Stealth Plus 9.0 Carbonwood driver, Stealth Plus 15.0 fairway, P7MB irons (4-PW) and MG3 wedges.
