This year's U.S. Open field features 15 amateurs, which is the fewest since 2022. And the non-professionals have a bit of pressure to keep a nice streak going. At least three amateurs have made the 36-hole cut for the last three years. In 2016, the last time the U.S. Open was played at Oakmont Country Club, 11 amateurs made the field, though only Jon Rahm made the cut. As for an amateur winning? Well, that's a different story. John Goodman is the last amateur to win the championship and that was in 1933.
