CPKC WOMEN'S OPEN TALKING POINTS
➡️ The 52nd CPKC Women's Open heads to Royal Mayfair Golf Club in Edmonton, Alberta, marking the third time the venue has hosted Canada's national championship. Serving as the final qualifying event for the U.S. Solheim Cup Team, the field features 15 Canadian golfers and 14 amateurs, led by reigning champion Brooke Henderson.
➡️ World No. 1 Nelly Korda enters the CPKC Women's Open after capturing the 2026 Rolex Annika Major Award following two major victories this season. Korda sits $296,011 behind Annika Sorenstam on the LPGA Tour all-time career money list, meaning a victory in Edmonton would make her the highest-earning player in tour history.
➡️ Henderson returns to the tournament as the winningest Canadian golfer in history with 14 career LPGA Tour titles. Henderson, who won her national open in 2018 and 2025, arrives in Edmonton following a standout major season highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Amundi Evian Championship and a third-place finish at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
➡️ Three-time tournament champion Lydia Ko returns to Royal Mayfair, the site of her historic 2012 victory where she became the youngest winner in LPGA Tour history at 15 years old. Ko, a 23-time LPGA winner, won the event as an amateur in both 2012 and 2013 before claiming her third title in 2015.
➡️ Kiara Romero is making her professional debut at Royal Mayfair after accepting LPGA Tour membership through the LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway. Romero, who earned her tour card by winning her second Mark H. McCormack Medal, becomes just the second player in history to enter the LPGA through the LEAP system.
