TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP NOTEBOOK
➡️ World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler won the Tour Championship by three strokes to capture his second career FedEx Cup title, joining Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy as the only multiple-time champions. Scheffler closed with a 4-under 66 to earn the $10 million prize, elevating his career earnings to $130,390,661 and surpassing Woods for the top spot on the PGA Tour’s all-time career money list.
➡️ Scheffler erased a three-stroke final-round deficit behind 54-hole leader Viktor Hovland to claim his 22nd career PGA Tour victory. It marked the third time Scheffler has overcome a deficit of three strokes or more in a final round. Hovland carded a 2-over 72 to finish solo second at 13-under par, his third top-five finish in seven consecutive appearances at East Lake Golf Club.
➡️ PGA Tour rookie Ryan Gerard capped a standout postseason run by finishing solo third at 12-under par in his Tour Championship debut. Gerard led a group of six first-timers at East Lake, with Alex Fitzpatrick and Min Woo Lee also earning top-five finishes at 11-under par. Gerard’s performance marked his seventh top-10 finish and fourth top-three result of the 2026 season.
➡️ McIlroy tied for fourth place at 11-under par while making his ninth consecutive Tour Championship appearance, extending the longest active streak on the PGA Tour. McIlroy recorded a field-high 23 birdies for the week. Meanwhile, 2018 FedEx Cup champion Justin Rose highlighted the final round by holing out a 6-iron for an ace on the par-3 ninth hole.
