PRESIDENTS CUP TALKING POINTS

➡️ Medinah Country Club will host the 16th Presidents Cup for the first time, becoming the sixth U.S. venue to stage the biennial competition. The four-day match-play event features 30 total matches between 12-man teams from the United States and International squads. The U.S. Team enters with a 13-1-1 all-time record and seeks its 10th consecutive victory.
➡️ Australian veteran Adam Scott is making his 12th Presidents Cup appearance for the International Team, tying Phil Mickelson for the most appearances in tournament history. Scott has competed in 54 matches — second only to Mickelson's 55 — since making his debut in 2003. The 46-year-old earned an automatic qualifying spot for the 11th time in his career.
➡️ At 21 years old, Jackson Koivun becomes the second-youngest American player in Presidents Cup history behind Jordan Spieth. Selected as a captain's pick by Brandt Snedeker, Koivun was ranked No. 48 on the U.S. points list, representing the lowest-ranked player ever picked for the matches. He makes his competition debut alongside fellow U.S. rookies Jacob Bridgeman and Chris Gotterup.
➡️ Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele return to the U.S. Team having played nine Presidents Cup matches as a pair, the most of any tandem in tournament history. Both players carry 10-4-0 career records into Medinah. They anchor an experienced core that includes world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and 10-time match winner Justin Thomas.
➡️ Captain Geoff Ogilvy's International Team features four players making their Presidents Cup debut — Nico Echavarria, Ryan Fox, Ryo Hisatsune and Nick Taylor. Fox becomes the first golfer from New Zealand to compete in the event since 2015, while Echavarria is just the third Colombian to participate. Players from 18 countries and territories have represented the International squad.
