FIRST THOUGHT

This is how good Lydia Ko is: She has won 22 times on the LPGA Tour, 13 more times internationally, earned her way into the LPGA Hall of Fame, won more Olympic medals (3) than any other male or female golfer and won 10 LPGA season-ending awards, from Rookie of the Year (2014) to Player of the Year (2015, 2022). And she is only 27 — OK, 27 years, 4 months and 30 days. Sunday, Ko won the Kroger Queen City Championship, her third victory of 2024 and the fifth season of her career in which she has earned at least three victories on Tour. Yet, for all of the wins and accolades, Ko has totaled $19,512,009 in career earnings. For perspective, that total would place Ko 117th on the PGA Tour career earnings list, right behind Stephen Ames ($19,718,160), who won four times on Tour, including the 2006 Players Championship.
