BAYCURRENT CLASSIC NOTEBOOK
➡️ Hideki Matsuyama and defending champion Xander Schauffele lead the marquee field at Yokohama Country Club in Japan. Matsuyama enters on a streak of 34 consecutive made cuts while featuring three top-five finishes this season. Schauffele seeks to become the tournament's first repeat winner following his 2025 victory. Both past champions join a world-class field that includes five former event winners and 16 players ranked inside the top 50 globally.
➡️ Jordan Spieth and Adam Scott arrive in Japan targeting crucial late-season breakthroughs. Spieth, sitting at No. 55 in the FedEx Cup Fall standings, makes his third tournament appearance while hunting for his first top-10 since 2025. Meanwhile, Scott enters off three top-10 finishes this season, including a ninth-place effort at The Open Championship.
➡️ Hosted for the second straight year at Yokohama Country Club, the Baycurrent Classic features a unique composite layout combining 16 holes from the West Course and two from the East Course. Co-sanctioned with the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO), the event spotlights 12 JGTO members alongside six fully exempt Japanese PGA Tour players, including Matsuyama, Takumi Kanaya and Ryo Hisatsune.
