If, going into 2025, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Ben Griffin were the names on the winning bingo card for three-time winners on the PGA Tour in 2025, then its doubtful anybody can claim "Bingo." Scheffler and McIlroy, yes, but Griffin? The 29-year-old switched to a mallet putter this week and had himself a field day en route to winning the World Wide Technology Championship. Griffin shot a final-round 9-under 63 to finish at 29-under par for the week. His weeklong scorecard featured an eagle, three bogeys and 30 birdies (41.7% of the holes he played). Griffin started the year ranked No. 65 in the world and played his way to No. 12 heading to Mexico last week. The win moved him to No. 9.

There is a beef to be had with the USGA. Missing from its robust schedule is the U.S. Parent-Child Championship, which would be immensely popular if it weren't for the logistical nightmares.

Readers of The First Call are in agreement that Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods vie for top honors, but break somewhat with Gary Player's assertion that he is golf's third greatest player.
