FIRST THOUGHT

Collin Morikawa and Billy Horschel can achieve something this week no American has ever done: win the European Tour’s season-long Race to Dubai. Formerly known as the Order of Merit, the honor has been awarded every year since New Zealander Bob Charles won the first in 1972. Morikawa and Horschel, first and second in the rankings, got a boost this week when No. 3 Jon Rahm withdrew from the season-ending DP World Tour Championship.
