Golf course renovations are a thing these days and, according to the recent "Golf Facility Market Trend Watch" report commissioned by the American Society of Golf Course Architects and conducted by Sports and Leisure Research Group, 56 percent of architects expect a renovation revenue increase over the next two years. A four-year low 11 percent expect revenues to be down.

Announced: By Coca-Cola Beverages Florida, the fourth largest Black-owned business in the United States, that it will serve as presenting sponsor for the inaugural Jim Thorpe Invitational, Feb. 25-27 at Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate in Orlando, Fla.
Signed: By Stephens, an independent financial services firm, LPGA player Brooke Matthews to a multiyear sponsorship agreement. The Stephens logo will appear on Matthews’ golf apparel during tournament play through 2024 and she will participate in Stephens’ corporate events, client outings, advertising and social media.
Announced: By Nexen Tire America, maker of high-performance passenger, SUV/light truck and winter tire technology, a continuation of its brand-ambassador partnership with Yaeeun Hong, which began in 2020. Hong will represent the brand for the first time on the LPGA Tour in 2022.
Voted: By the Golf Writers Association of America, Collin Morikawa, Nelly Korda and Phil Mickelson as the respective winners of the organization's 2021 player of the year awards. Morikawa was voted Male Player of the Year for the first time; Korda earned Female Player of the Year honors for the first time; and Mickelson was voted Senior Player of the Year for the first time. The trio will be honored at the 48th GWAA Awards Dinner in Augusta, Ga., on April 6.
