FIRST THOUGHT

The Ryder Cup is still eight months out, but Justin Rose's win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am on Monday had to bring a smile to European Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald's face. For Rose, 42, the win snapped a four-year winless drought on the PGA Tour and moved him from No. 71 to No. 35 in the Official World Golf Ranking. More important, the win could be a sign that Rose may be rounding into Ryder Cup form for a sixth time and first since 2018. Rose has a 13-8-2 record and has scored 14 points in his Ryder Cup career.
