Having already gone on record as not being fond of changes made to Riviera Country Club's par-3 fourth hole, Rory McIlroy did not let that distract him in posting a 5-under-par 66 to share the first-round clubhouse lead at the Genesis Invitational. McIlroy and Jacob Bridgeman were one back of Aaron Rai, who was through 16 holes, when play was suspended Thursday. The round was McIlroy's lowest opening round at Riviera in 10 starts. While McIlroy has 29 PGA Tour wins, he has never won the Genesis Invitational, and he has the third most wins on Tour without a win at the Genesis Invitational over the last 30 years — Tiger Woods with 82 and Vijay Singh with 31 are ahead of him. As for the fourth hole? McIlroy birdied it.
