Robby Shelton is something of a birdie machine. On Thursday, during the opening round of the Mexico Open at Vidanta, Shelton, 28, posted a 4-under 67 and sits T15. What made the round significant was a stretch of seven successive birdies (holes Nos. 6-12), which is the longest streak of the season. Since the start of the 2022-23 season, there have been six birdie streaks of seven of more on the PGA Tour — and Shelton is the only player with two streaks.
