Joe Highsmith would certainly like to repeat as the Cognizant Classic champion, but would likely prefer not to take the same route as a year ago. In 2025, Highsmith made the cut on the number before making his weekend more. In doing so, he became the sixth player since 2003 to go from the cutline to winning. Highsmith joined Brandt Snedeker (2016 Farmers Insurance Open), Carl Pettersson (2010 RBC Canadian Open), Rory McIlroy (2010 Truist Championship), Chris Couch (2006 Zurich Classic) and Brad Faxon (2005 Travelers).
