One month of 12 does not serve as a true barometer for the year to come, so January's 17% drop year-over-year in national rounds played should be taken for what it is — one month. Colder temperatures and fewer playable days led to the biggest declines in the Mid Atlantic (-65%), East North Central (-70%) and West North Central (-71%) regions. Here is a breakdown of the last five YOY totals:
