FIRST THOUGHT

Erik van Rooyen was Sunday night's leader in the clubhouse at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches and typically that means he's also the champion. However, while van Rooyen is at 14 under, a number of players — including 14 who have not teed off — have yet to finish, including Austin Eckroat, who is at 15 under through seven holes. Play was suspended at 12:49 p.m. ET due to dangerous weather in the Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, area. Should van Rooyen manage to win, he would become the first player since Brandt Snedeker (2016 Farmers Insurance Open) to complete his final round on Sunday and go on to win a Monday finish.
