As well as Scottie Scheffler is playing right now, the thought of winning a third successive tournament start is a distinct possibility. But it does not happen often, just three times since 2008 — Dustin Johnson (2017, The Genesis Invitational, WGC-Mexico Championship, WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play); Rory McIlroy (2014, British Open, WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, PGA Championship) and Tiger Woods (2008, Farmers Insurance Open, WGC-Accenture Match Play, Arnold Palmer Invitational). Scheffler is making his fifth start at the Texas Children's Open and he has finished in the top 10 each of the past two years (T2, 2021; T9, 2022).
