FIRST THOUGHT

The latest transformation of Bryson DeChambeau was on display Thursday as he shot a 4-under 66 in the opening round of the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club. In the past year, DeChambeau, 29, moved to LIV Golf, started a new diet in August and lost 18 pounds in 24 days, and changed his equipment company, swing coach and caddie. For at least one day, the changes appeared to be positives. DeChambeau, who won the 2020 U.S. Open at Winged Foot Golf Club, tied his low opening round in a major and low round in 17 PGA rounds.
