FIRST THOUGHT

Brooks Koepka etched his name deeper into golf's greatness by winning a third PGA Championship and fifth major overall on Sunday at Oak Hill Country Club. His latest major puts him in the company of James Braid, John Henry Taylor, Byron Nelson, Peter Thomson and Seve Ballesteros as players with five majors. Looking ahead, one more in 2023 ties him with Lee Trevino, Nick Faldo and Phil Mickelson, and two ties him for seventh all-time, joining Harry Vardon, Bobby Jones, Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer.
