U.S. Women's Open Takeaways
➡️ Nelly Korda finished at 8-under 276 to win her 19th LPGA title and fourth major, becoming the first American since 1986 to win the season's first two majors. At 27 years old, Korda is just the ninth player in LPGA history to win four major championships before turning 28. She is the first player to win back-to-back majors since Lydia Ko (2015–16) and the first American to do so since Juli Inkster in 1999. Also, Korda became the eighth player ever (and fifth American) to win all three majors played in the United States: the Chevron Championship, the U.S. Women's Open, and the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
➡️ After sitting T56 and seven shots back after the first round, Korda tied the all-time record for the largest 18-hole deficit overcome to win the U.S. Women's Open.
➡️ Charley Hull and Gaby Lopez tied for second at seven-under. It marked Hull’s fifth major runner-up finish and Lopez’s best career major performance.
➡️ Five amateurs made the cut, led by Kiara Romero (T6). The others were Maria Jose Marin (T8), Aphrodite Deng (T17), Asterisk Talley (T22) and Farah O’Keefe (T34). They each earned LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway points toward securing future Tour membership.
➡️ With her victory, world No. 1 Korda earned two Hall of Fame points, bringing her career total to 25, just two shy of qualification.
