KPMG WOMEN'S PGA CHAMPIONSHIP TALKING POINTS
➡️ Ina Yoon grabbed the first-round lead at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, carding a bogey-free 9-under-par 63. Yoon's opening performance set the record for the lowest first round in event history and tied the tournament's overall 18-hole scoring record. The historic mark also represents the lowest individual round of her LPGA Tour career.
➡️ Karis Davidson opened with a 7-under-par 65 to sit alone in second place, marking her lowest career round in a major championship. Davidson enters the week with a streak of 15 consecutive made cuts on the LPGA Tour. That stands as the third-longest active streak on tour, trailing only Nelly Korda and Celine Boutier.
TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP TALKING POINTS
➡️ Eric Cole opened the Travelers Championship with a bogey-free 7-under-par 63 to claim the outright first-round lead. It marks the fourth time Cole has held at least a share of the 18-hole lead on the PGA Tour, though he has yet to convert any of his previous opportunities into a victory. He is seeking his first tour win.
➡️ Scottie Scheffler carded a bogey-free 6-under-par 64 to sit in a tie for second place. The performance marked the 83rd bogey-free round of Scheffler's career, the most of any player on the PGA Tour since 2019. The world No. 1 is searching for his second victory of the 2026 season.
➡️ The opening round at TPC River Highlands yielded a scoring average of 67.961. The field's performance established the lowest first-round scoring average recorded on the PGA Tour so far this season, eclipsing the previous low of 68.288 set during the first round of The American Express.
