WYNDHAM CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES
➡️ The 87th Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, is the PGA Tour's final event of the regular season. Players are making their final push to finish inside the top 70 of the FedEx Cup standings and qualify for the FedEx St. Jude Championship. The field features 67 of the top 100 players in the FedEx Cup, including past FedEx Cup champions Brandt Snedeker, Billy Horschel, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.
➡️ Reigning champion Cameron Young seeks to become the first player to successfully defend his title at the Wyndham Championship since Sam Snead in 1956. Young, a former Wake Forest standout and world No. 3, matched the tournament's 72-hole scoring record of 258 during his six-stroke victory last year.
➡️ Rookie Jackson Koivun enters the regular-season finale holding the final playoff qualification spot at No. 70 in the FedEx Cup standings. The 21-year-old former Auburn star earned his first PGA Tour title two weeks ago at the 3M Open, setting a 72-hole tournament scoring record at 25-under 259. Koivun previously finished tied for fifth at the Wyndham Championship in 2025 while competing as a sponsor exemption.
➡️ PGA Tour veterans Jason Day and Keegan Bradley enter the week sitting outside the top 70 cutoff, seeking to keep long postseason streaks intact. Day, ranked No. 75 in the FedEx Cup standings, is trying to extend his streak of consecutive playoff appearances to 19 dating back to 2008. Bradley enters at No. 72 in the standings as he aims to reach the postseason for a 16th consecutive year.
➡️ Past Wyndham Championship winners Aaron Rai and Brandt Snedeker return to Greensboro following notable victories earlier in the 2026 season. Rai, the 2024 champion, captured his first major title at the PGA Championship earlier this year. Snedeker, a two-time Wyndham winner making his 18th start at the event, won the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic this season and will serve as the U.S. Team Captain for the 2026 Presidents Cup in September.
