FIRST THOUGHT

Some streaks speak more to a player's greatness than others — such as which players have the longest active streaks of qualifying for the Tour Championship. Hideki Matsuyama has qualified for each of the last eight, while Justin Thomas has in six straight years. Tony Finau, Jon Rahm and Xander Schauffele have streaks of five seasons. While Matsuyama, Rahm and Thomas have won majors, Finau and Schauffele have top-10 finishes in each of the four majors.

Announced: By the PGA of America, that CBS Sports will air "Golf Journeys: A Celebration of PGA Professionals.” The one-hour special, narrated by James Brown, will debut on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 2 p.m. ET on CBS, and be rebroadcast on CBS Sports Network, Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network. The show, created in collaboration with the PGA, profiles both award-winning PGA members and a new generation of PGA professionals employed in roles throughout the golf industry.
