PRESIDENTS CUP NOTEBOOK
➡️ The United States Team staged the largest Sunday comeback in Presidents Cup history, rallying from a three-point deficit to defeat the International Team 17-13 at Medinah Country Club. The Americans dominated Sunday singles with a 9.5-2.5 margin — the largest single-session singles point differential in tournament history — to capture their 11th consecutive Presidents Cup title and improve to 14-1-1 all-time.
➡️ At the 2012 Ryder Cup held at Medinah, Europe trailed the United States 10-6 heading into Sunday's 12 singles matches. Europe won the session 8.5-3.5 and won the Cup 14.5-13.5.
➡️ One week after winning the Biltmore Championship Asheville, rookie Jacob Bridgeman earned the clinching point for the U.S. Team with a 1-up singles victory over Min Woo Lee. Bridgeman became just the second Presidents Cup rookie in history to secure the winning point for the Americans, joining Daniel Berger in 2017.
➡️ Twenty-one-year-old Jackson Koivun finished as the lone undefeated player at the 2026 Presidents Cup, posting a 2-0-1 record in his event debut. Koivun rallied from a 2-down deficit through 10 holes to defeat Si Woo Kim 2-up in Sunday singles, becoming the 10th rookie and 10th captain's pick in tournament history to finish undefeated.
➡️ World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas each secured their first career Presidents Cup singles victories on Sunday, with Thomas defeating Corey Conners 5 and 3 and Scheffler beating Nico Echavarria 2 and 1. Meanwhile, Patrick Cantlay, Collin Morikawa, and Xander Schauffele all maintained perfect career records in singles play, with Cantlay improving to 4-0-0 after a 2-and-1 win over Adam Scott.
➡️ Adam Scott extended his record for the most matches played in Presidents Cup history to 58 during his 12th tournament appearance. Despite Scott's milestone, the International Team fell to 1-2-1 when leading entering Sunday singles. Tom Kim led all 24 competitors in total points scored at Medinah, finishing 4-1-0 overall after earning his first career singles win with a 3-and-2 victory over Wyndham Clark.
