The name Atthaya Thitikul is quite likely not a household one — yet. On Monday, Thitikul, 19, a two-time LPGA Tour winner, became just the second Thai to become No. 1 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Also, she becomes the 36th player to hold the No. 1 position and is just the second under the age of 20. In 2021, Thitikul became the youngest player ever to win the Ladies European Tour’s Race to Costa del Sol while also securing Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year honors. This year, she currently leads the LPGA's Rookie of the Year standings with 1,487 points and is fourth in the race to become Player of the Year.
