Prior to joining the PGA Tour Champions, Bernhard Langer's career was already worthy of greatness — 42 European Tour wins, two Masters green jackets, 11 Ryder Cups and countless other accolades. But what the 65-year-old has done since joining the senior circuit, though, is otherworldly. His win on Sunday at the TimberTech Championship just extended a compelling list of numbers. In addition to 44 Tour wins — 11 of which are majors — he has 40 runner-up finishes. There are also the 11 money titles and a run of 10 successive multiple-win seasons.

Elected: By PGA of America members, John Lindert as the 43rd president during the association’s 106th Annual Meeting. Lindert, a member of the Michigan PGA Section, is PGA director of golf at The Country Club of Lansing. He succeeds Jim Richerson, who completed his two-year term as president and is now PGA honorary president. Succeeding Lindert as vice president is Don Rea Jr., of Gilbert, Arizona. Nathan Charnes, of O’Fallon, Missouri, was elected the new PGA secretary.
Announced: By the American Society of Golf Course Architects, its Environmental Excellence Awards honorees. Projects from five golf facilities were cited for their work with ASGCA members in addressing unique environmental challenges. The recognized courses and architects are: Brookline Golf Course, Brookline, Massachusetts / Mark Mungeam; Columbia Golf Course, Minneapolis, Minnesota / Kevin Norby; Como Golf Course, St. Paul, Minnesota / Kevin Norby; Las Piedras, Punta del Este, Uruguay / Thad Layton; and Union League National Golf Club, Swainton, New Jersey / Dana Fry and Jason Straka.
