Ibkul's ‘Ruthie’ top supports MercyCorp’s life-saving efforts in the Ukraine

Jamie Handler, IBKUL President and humanitarian, shared a heartwarming story about how his artwork ideas for the special IBKUL top almost didn’t make it to the designer. Handler and his wife Debby are also dog-lovers and their five adopted dogs contribute to an always hectic environment at home. “The influence for the artwork was all wrapped up in a container ready to be shipped,” explains Handler, “until Ruthie, our Great Dane, got a hold of it and shredded the contents all over the house. I salvaged bits and pieces of the design idea and sent it to our artist, hoping it was enough for her to work with. And thankfully, she was able to come up with the print! So we named the top, ‘Ruthie.’”

Anurag Gauba, COO of IBKUL, says they picked a charity that is best aligned with the company’s philosophy about giving back to people in need and reaching the people of Ukraine directly. “We’ve been impressed with MercyCorp’s work,” says Gauba, “and we are very happy that we’ve had an overwhelming response to this product to date. And it speaks to Jamie Handler’s creativity and heart. He wanted to help the people of Ukraine and made the special Ukrainian inspired top become a reality. People who know Jamie understand how much he cares for helping others. This truly amplifies what Jamie is all about.”

The top is available to order via IBKUL’s web site:

“The top has been so popular we have already gone into production to produce additional units to meet the demand that has well exceeded our corporate expectation,” added Handler. “We are thrilled our consumer wants to support this special cause.”
