FIRST THOUGHT

With Saudi influence putting its money into the Asian Tour through the Greg Norman-led Liv Golf Investments, there was bound to be some sort of counter and it came on Tuesday with the rebranding of the European Tour to the DP World Tour, backed by the United Arab Emirates-based logistics company, in 2022. Tournament prize purses will increase to a minimum of $2 million, while the overall season total will exceed $200 million, up from $104 in 2021. Unanswered yet by the announcement is what does this mean for the Premier Golf League?
