Branson Golf shines brightly in holiday season with festive, extraordinary events

Destination pairs acclaimed golf with Thanksgiving, Christmas celebrations through year’s end

(Branson, Missouri) – What’s better than enjoying one of the most-compelling golf destinations in the world? Doing so during the holidays in Branson, a multi-faceted place that becomes a Christmas Wonderland in November and December.

In the past few years, the destination has exploded into the international golf consciousness, thanks to five new courses built by Big Cedar Lodge, including designs by Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Those five courses bring Branson Golf to 10 playing venues, and they provide ideal options due to a variety of price points, terrain, design styles, and number of holes (there are two short courses among the group, both among the best in America).

Fortunately, golf is going strong in Branson in November and December. So pairing great rounds with remarkable seasonal events is easy and filled with abundant options.

For more than a quarter century, Branson has made its holiday lineup of events a treasured tradition. Celebrations run from the beginning of November through New Year’s Day – there’s no waiting for Thanksgiving to kick-off the holidays here.

For Thanksgiving, there are dozens of restaurants and hotels offering wonderful meals and the spirit of the day, and scores of Christmas-themed activities and places beckon, including the following:

Christmas Shows – Branson is known for world-class live music shows. With an amazing lineup of special performances and themed shows, a Christmas show in Branson is unlike any other.

Christmas Lights – Christmas light displays are throughout the Branson area. Driving tours such as “Let There Be Lights!” and Branson's “Lights of Joy” and “Trail of Lights” are exciting to explore. During the Christmas season, visitors can even experience light displays while walking through Branson Landing, the waterfront town center filled with shops, restaurants, bars, and more. Silver Dollar City, Branson’s iconic theme park, is home to the largest Christmas light display in this area with more than six million lights across the park.

Old Time Christmas – Everyone can experience the wonder of Silver Dollar City during “An Old-Time Christmas” festival. The child in everyone comes alive when they see the lights covering the city. Live Christmas shows, 1,000 decorated Christmas trees, an eight-story Christmas tree with special effects, and the Holly Jolly Christmas Light Parade are part of the park’s amazing holiday lineup.

Christmas Joy of Giving – Looking for the perfect gifts for your loved ones? In Branson, you can enjoy Christmas traditions and get all your Christmas shopping done! Specialty shops, outlet malls and unique-to-Branson experiences await, just be sure to bring your full shopping list.
