Not that it was necessary, but Scottie Scheffler put further exclamation on his 2024 by winning the Hero World Challenge. Scheffler successfully repeated as champion — joining Tiger Woods (2006, 2007) and Viktor Hovland (2021, 2022) as the tournament's only back-to-back champions — after shooting a final-round 63 to win by six strokes over Tom Kim. In doing so, Scheffler bettered his winning score from 2023 by five strokes and was one stroke shy of tying the 72-hole tournament record set by Jordan Spieth in 2014 (262 / -26). His final-round 63 marked his low score in 16 rounds at Albany Golf Club and in four appearances he has never shot an over-par 18-hole score at the Hero World Challenge. His other two finishes? Second in 2021 and 2022.
