Five days ago, Texas native Sadie Englemann found herself hoisting a trophy for the first time as a professional at the Texas Women’s Open in Grapevine, Texas.
Englemann beat out an impressive field in her home state, one that saw several Epson Tour players and LPGA Tour major champion Angela Stanford compete. She won by two shots at Grapevine Golf Club.
And now, in two days’ time, Englemann is gearing up for her second career Epson Tour event, the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship at Battle Creek Golf Club in Battle Creek, Michigan.
"The win gives me a lot of confidence," Englemann said. "I think I had that inner confidence knowing my game was there, but this kind of just proved it. Even [Tuesday], I felt like I stepped out here, and I felt more like I belonged than I did at my last event."

Before heading to the pro scene, the 22-year-old played collegiate golf for the Stanford Cardinal for four seasons, helping the team win two national championship titles and a PAC-12 Team Championship. Individually, Englemann claimed two victories for her school, with her last one coming at the 2023 East Lake Cup.
The 2025 Epson Tour rookie earned her spot in the field at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship based on her ranking on the 2025 Epson Tour Priority List and already has a guaranteed spot in next week’s Great Lakes Championship because of her win in The Lone Star State. And Englemann can still play her way into more tournaments by making the cut over the next two weeks, as the second reshuffle of the season comes after the Otter Creek Championship.
During her first tournament on the Official Qualifying Tour of the LPGA, Englemann got off to a strong start, posting a 2-under 69 in her first round on the Epson Tour. Nerves got the best of her in round two, however, and she carded a 10-over 81 to miss the cut.
"A cut is so new for me because in college and even amateur golf, there weren't a lot of cuts, and I think for me it was a struggle," Englemann said. "My mind was, ‘Oh, I just need to make the cut. I just need to make the cut’ and so I wasn't playing to my full ability and trying to win or trying to come top 15."
Now, back with more confidence after her victory in Texas, Englemann is ready to make her name known on the Epson Tour and beyond.
"I know better than anyone that I'm playing well. But I also know that doesn't necessarily make yourself have good results in the end," the rookie said. "I don't think I have too many expectations going into this week, and it's comforting knowing I'm also playing next week. I have two weeks to get comfortable and show that I can be here and play."
