All Branson golf courses open for public play; niche follows macro trends in state and town

Special greens fees are available at several of the playing venues

BRANSON, MISSOURI, May 6, 2020 – LedgeStone and The Pointe are the latest Branson golf course to welcome back public play, mirroring the area trend that includes the Branson Board of Aldermen repealing this week an ordinance that had closed non-essential town businesses, and the Governor rescinding the stay-at-home order.

There were no positive cases from the 340 that were tested last week, according to official reports, a result considered to be a public health win, and stemming from the community employing best practices to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Below are details from the area golf venues.

LedgeStone
Tee times are available from 7am-6 pm, and reservations can be made online or by phone. There are 20-minute intervals between tee times to accommodate those that request to play one rider per cart. No more than six people are allowed inside the clubhouse at any time (other than staff). The food and beverage operation, including on-course beverage cart, remains suspended; however, beverages and snacks are available for purchase in the Pro Shop. The local greens fee is $69 + tax for 18 holes with cart (does not include range balls). That rate is valid Sunday–Thursday anytime during the day, and Friday-Saturday after 12 pm. To receive the local player rate, a photo ID is required at check-in, with no exceptions. This rate is available to residents of these counties: Greene, Christian, Stone, Taney, and Boone. Each verified local resident may fill a foursome (1 local + 3 guests) at the $69 rate.

Big Cedar Lodge
All five courses are open – Payne’s Valley (Tiger Woods design), Ozarks National (Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw), Buffalo Ridge Springs (Tom Fazio and Johnny Morris), Top of the Rock (Jack Nicklaus), and Mountain Top (Gary Player). There are two specials available until May 21:
- Ozarks National – Greens fee is $135 on Mondays-Thursday; book online using the promotional code “GREATOUTDOORS”
- Mountain Top – Greens fee is $30 when playing another Big Cedar Lodge course; does not have to be played the same day

The Pointe
The golf club is open to all and has implemented several precautionary measures to ensure that best practices are employed. These include asking players to leave the flag sticks in the hole, removing ball washers from the golf course, not putting water coolers on the course, and removing rakes from sand traps. Staff is raking bunkers as often as possible.

Branson Hills
The Chuck Smith-designed golf course (with support from former U.S. Amateur champion Bobby Clampett) is open on Tuesday-Sunday. The cost for 18 holes is $79. Players are directed not to touch the flagsticks, and all rakes have been removed from the course. The clubhouse and the Magnolia Grille are open at 25% capacity with strict social distancing guidelines in place. Guests are asked to remove all trash from the golf carts at the completion of play.

Thousand Hills
Tee times are at 15-minute intervals, and only one player is allowed per cart (unless related). The pro shop is open and the beverage cart is available weather permitting.
