Los Angeles, CA – TGA Premier Sports (TGA), the go-to brand for introducing children to sports and the nation’s most prolific provider of in-school and community-based youth golf enrichment programs, is beginning to roll out its traditional, in-person summer golf camps in markets all across the country. As businesses, including golf courses and community centers, begin to open nationwide, TGA is stepping in to provide a timely solution for families who need quality, safe activities for their kids this summer.
As TGA navigates through these challenging times into what could become a new sports landscape, and with some team sports programs still being sidelined in markets, individualistic sports like golf are uniquely positioned for growth. With social distancing naturally built into it, the sport of golf will be pushed to the forefront as parents look for new sports activities for their kids. TGA is ready to introduce and teach them golf in a fun, engaging program.
TGA’s nationwide team of owners, coaches, and professional staff have been working hard implementing best practices for all camps including social distancing, sanitizing stations, no sharing of equipment, smaller groups, replacing handshakes with tip of the cap, no contact with flagsticks or other course equipment, as well as other ways to ensure a fun, safe environment for kids to learn golf’s core basics.
“The unprecedented events over the past few months have affected everyone, including drastically reducing physical activities for kids and the opportunity to experience sports,” says Joshua Jacobs, TGA’s founder and CEO. “Golf has a unique opportunity to grow coming out of this pandemic and we are excited to be one of the few sports offering opportunities right now for kids to participate in. I credit our staff, franchise owners, coaches, and golf course partners, who have all been committed to working together on new best practices and creating safe environments at the golf courses for families and kids.”
In every franchise market, TGA develops partnerships with local golf courses to create its Player Pathway program that includes participating in fun and competitive events including summer camps, parent-child clinics, junior programs, and leagues. Students have the opportunity to take what they learned in the enrichment programs and apply their new skills on the golf course. The camp programs include a similar curriculum as the after-school enrichment combining golf skill progression with academics (STEAM), life skills, and physical activity, as well as on-course activities and games.
SUMMER SESSIONS AT HOME
As of this past March, with schools shutting down across the country and kids at more than 3,000 schools nationwide unable to participate in TGA’s golf enrichment programs, the youth sports franchise quickly pivoted developing online “at home” content and now a new live virtual camp experience, Summer Sessions At Home. The new live virtual programs will be unveiled this month for camps and the upcoming fall school sessions. Parents who may not be ready or feel safe to have their children in camps yet will welcome these live virtual golf classes, delivering TGA’s same great content, making it easy for parents and fun for kids.
