Rounds 4 Research auction rescheduled for July 20-26

Environmental Institute for Golf program has raised nearly $1.5 million since 2012

Lawrence, Kan. (June 30, 2020) – The 2020 Rounds 4 Research online auction, an innovative program aimed at generating resources to fund research and help ensure golf’s future, has been rescheduled for July 20-26.

The annual event was originally scheduled for April 27-May 3 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Visit www.rounds4research for information about the program or to make a donation. Donations are still being accepted and will be accepted throughout the end of the auction.

Rounds 4 Research is a venture of the Environmental Institute for Golf (EIFG), the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). It is presented in partnership with The Toro Co., with media promotion provided by Golf Channel, Golf Advisor and GolfNow. Funds generated from the auction support research-related activities of GCSAA and its affiliated chapters. Since launching in 2012, Rounds 4 Research has raised nearly $1.5 million for turfgrass research, education and advocacy programs. The 2019 auction raised over $364,000. Funds raised by the EIFG also help support GCSAA’s national research program.

“It was with a very heavy heart that we postponed the auction, but we felt it was the right thing to do in the midst of a global pandemic,” said Rhett Evans, chief executive officer of GCSAA. “We are so appreciative of the facilities that donated during these challenging times and embraced the new dates. Golf has been a refuge and provided a bit of normalcy during the crisis. As golfers get back to golf, Rounds 4 Research offers them a chance to play a round at a notable golf course or a local favorite while supporting the future of the game that means so much to so many.”

The auction will conclude at 9 p.m. (Central) on July 26. To preview rounds and to bid when the auction opens, visit https://www.biddingforgood.com/rounds4research.
