Registration is now open for the USAGA International Para-Golf Championship

Tournament classifies golfers based on their individual challenges

Burr Ridge, Ill. (July 23, 2020) -- The U.S. Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA) is pleased to announce its player-friendly registration link for the 2020 USAGA International Para-Golf Championship, taking place October 19-22 at Bear Creek Golf Club, an Arcis Golf property, in Dallas, Texas.

The Championship, in its’ fourth year, is open to men and women. Players can compete in the following divisions: Open, Women, Seniors, G1 and G2 Single Leg Impairment, G3 Multiple Leg Impairment, G4 Single Arm-Unassisted, G5 Single Arm-Assisted, G6 Multiple Arm Impairment, G7 Multiple Arm and Leg Impairment, G8 Neurological Conditions and Coordination Impairments, G9/10 Sitting Golfers, G11 and G12 Visually Impaired, G13 Visually Impaired, G14 Short in Stature, G15 Traumatic Brian Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The USAGA International Para-Golf Championship is the only major championship that classifies golfers based on their individual challenges and identifies the country’s best golfers within each classification division.

The USAGA Standards and Ranking System (USAGR) seeks to create fair and equitable opportunities for players to compete and be ranked against others overcoming similar challenges. Now, everybody can play golf and compete, regardless of challenge or skill level!

The deadline for entries is Monday, September 21, 2020.

“The purpose of the USAGA INTERNATIONAL Para-Golf Championship is to bring competitive disabled golfers together from around the USA and the world to compete, share stories, and enjoy camaraderie through the game of golf,” says Edmund ‘EQ’ Sylvester, Chairman, USAGA. “Having attended all three previous USAGA world events, and having been a prior six handicap player, this is the most awesome display of skill, athleticism and courage I’ve ever seen in the game of golf! The USAGA International Para-Golf Championship is a World Ranking for Golfers with Disabilities (WR4GD) and USAGR ranked tournament.

The top two places from each sport’s class secure a berth on the USA Para-Golf Team.

If the event is cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, all entry fees will be refunded.
