The rigorous evaluation by Prevo Health Solutions is based on a comprehensive “Health Report” evaluation of seven club categories: strategy, membership, fitness, food and beverage, golf, tennis and human resources. Each year, it assesses eligible clubs through surveys, research, interviews and on-site evaluations.

America’s Healthiest Clubs is the club industry’s only wellness rating system, providing a third-party validation and recognition for a healthy environment. Sea Pines Country Club scored over 90% in five of the seven categories, placing it among a small percentage of private facilities in the U.S.

“Health and wellness are cornerstones of Sea Pines Country Club, whether it be mental, physical or social,” says General Manager and Chief Operating Officer Robbie Ames. “We’re honored to be recognized for a third-straight year as one of America’s Healthiest Clubs and to continue providing our members with the best environment for enhancing their lives.”

Sea Pines Country Club opened a stunning $3 million fitness center in 2019, expanding the previous footprint from 2,500 to 7,300 square feet. The state-of-the-art facility features the latest cardio and strength training equipment, as well as a grab-and-go café, infrared sauna and easy access to the club’s 24-meter outdoor and updated indoor saline pools.

The club’s fitness lineup, led by Director of Fitness and Wellness Wendy Kelly, includes yoga, Pilates, spin, full-body strength training, TRX and water aerobics. Physical and massage therapy round out the offerings.

Members enjoy a myriad of healthy dining options and venues serving a variety of fresh and nutritious menu items. Executive Chef Brian Coseo sources meats, seafood and dairy from local providers, and also incorporates fresh vegetables from the on-site vegetable garden located just beyond the pool deck.

“The facilities and programming Sea Pines Country Club has developed to promote health and overall well-being are a major driver of member growth and retention,” says Rick Ladendorf, founder and president of America’s Healthiest Clubs. “Private clubs are in the lifestyle design business and are leaders in offering their members a path to longevity and happiness.”

About Sea Pines Country Club
Sea Pines Country Club is a private, member-owned club within the gates of the famed 5,000-acre Sea Pines community on storied Hilton Head Island. Its centerpiece is a meticulously maintained golf course designed by the legendary Arnold Palmer and updated by Hilton Head-based golf course architect Clyde Johnston in 2001.

Eminently playable, the 6383-yard Lowcountry gem is routed through thick strands of Spanish Moss-draped live oaks and towering Carolina pines. Its subtle doglegs and canopied corridors lead to beguiling green complexes flanked by languid lagoons and coastal landscapes.

Members relish the club’s expansive outdoor deck overlooking one of the island’s largest tidal marshes. Here, they soak up the South Carolina sun while cooling off in the waters of the 24-meter lap pool as children play in the fountains of the kids’ splash pool just a few feet away. A wide selection of food and beverage options ranging from smoothies, salads and sandwiches to pizzas, wraps and burgers are available poolside via the Café.

The club’s completely reimagined clubhouse is highlighted by contemporary, casual dining at the Blue Heron Pub & Grille and a 7,300-square-foot fitness center with leading cardio and strength training equipment, classrooms, infrared saunas and indoor saline lap pool. Members enjoy an array of amenities and activities, including tennis, pickleball, bocce and numerous social clubs.
