Global Golf Post announces 2021 “Pro’s Pro”

Accomplished New York competitor Darrell Kestner selected

Glenview, Ill. (January 25, 2021)Global Golf Post, the leading golf news brand in the world, has unveiled its seventh annual Pro’s Pro selection.

Darrell Kestner, director of golf at Deepdale Golf Club in Manhasset, New York, has been selected as the 2021 “Pro’s Pro,” the one golf professional Global Golf Post designates each year who embodies the spirit of professionalism among PGA of America members.

Kestner has played in 11 PGA Championships and eight U.S. Opens. He is the only PGA club professional post-World War II to play in major championships across five decades. During his 32 years at Deepdale, he has developed a reputation for being a great teaching pro, and he has mentored countless assistant golf professionals who have moved up the ranks at golf courses around the country.

Kestner joins a prestigious list of “Pro’s Pro” honorees including Bob Ford, head golf professional at both Seminole Golf Club in Florida and Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania (2015), Dave Podas, director of golf at Bel-Air Country Club in Los Angeles (2016), Rob Labritz, director of golf at Glen Arbor Golf Club in Bedford Hills, N.Y. (2017), Rod Perry, director of golf at Crane Lakes Golf & Country Club in Port Orange, Fla. (2018), Cary Cozby, the director of golf at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla. (2019), and Jim Sobb, the director of golf at Ivanhoe Club in Mundelein, Ill., (2020).
